Prefectures of France

In France, a préfecture is the capital (whether de jure or de facto) of a département or a région, or simply the official residence or headquarters of a prefect.

The following prefectures are relevant to one Harry Turtledove work or another, although the city may appear in a context in which it does not have this status.
