These animals are native to the world which includes Derlavai. (For convenience, Siaulian and austral continental animals are included here as well.) Some are fantasy creatures, others are species that exist in our world. Animals from the latter category should only go here if their existence gives some insight into the fictional world, or are the subject of an interesting anecdote in-universe. Dogs, cats, reindeer, salmon, elephants, and other species exist in Derlavai, but are incidental. By contrast, a religious taboo involving goats is at the center of an important subplot, thus a goat article has been created. An article subsection for rats has been created because rats are the primary test animals for the shocking new development in magecraft.
