Coups

A coup d'état, also known simply as a coup, putsch or an overthrow, is the illegal and overt seizure of a state by the military or other elites within the state apparatus. This elitist element distinguishes a coup from a revolution, in which the population rises up against the present system.

This category lists various fictional coups that take place in the works of Harry Turtledove, or historical coups that have some important role in Turtledove's works. The coups needn't have been successful to be included here. Revolutions should go in their own category.
