Confederates

In OTL, the Confederate States never achieved the status of a nation. Some of Harry Turtledove's alternate history works are set in worlds where this recognition was achieved. The following characters were citizens or long-term residents of that nation in one or more timelines where this happened. For convenience, this category also includes people from the Southeastern Confederated People's Republic in the novel Powerless.

Any historical figures who appear here, also appear in another nationality category, usually Americans.

Historical Confederate soldiers, and fictional Confederate soldiers from novels that are not alternate history, appear in Confederate Soldiers of the American Civil War. Given Turtledove's tendency to feature the same historical figures in multiple timelines, many appear in both lists.
