These countries fought in World War I on the side of the Central Powers in OTL.
Italy had been under treaty obligation to support the Central Powers, but refused to do so. It remained neutral for the first year of the war, then aligned itself with the Entente in 1915, following a secret treaty with the United Kingdom.
