The Consolidated Municipality of Carson City is an independent city and the capital of the U.S. state of Nevada, named after the mountain man Kit Carson. As of the 2010 census, the population was 55,274, making it the sixth largest city in Nevada.
In 2031, U.S. troops raided Carson City, arresting the Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Nevada, who had sought to hinder President Pence's plan to invade nearby Pacifica. Although the Nevada Highway Patrol put up resistance, they were subdued after only two of their number were wounded. A pro-Pence regime was placed in charge of the state.[1]
