Cape Town is the second-most populated city in South Africa after Johannesburg, and the provincial capital and primate city of the Western Cape. As the seat of the National Parliament, it is also the legislative capital of the country. It forms part of the City of Cape Town metropolitan municipality. The city is famous for its harbour as well as its natural setting in the Cape floral kingdom, as well as for such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point.

Cape Town in Worldwar[]

Cape Town, like the rest of South Africa, was the under the rule of the Race. White South Africans who wanted greater freedoms and the restoration of the country's racial hierarchy before 1942, were particularly vocal in the 1960s.

American criminals Rance Auerbach and Penny Summers were sent to Cape Town after being caught smuggling ginger in Mexico in 1963. They fled to French Tahiti after trying to do the same thing in Cape Town. Gorppet, the infantry male who caught Ruhollah Khomeini, and was rewarded with a transfer to South Africa, was also involved in the smuggling scheme.
