In September 1945, he shared the family's grief upon learning that his brother-in-law, Pat, had been killed by German Freedom Front attack outside of Munich, Germany.[2] Buster and Betsy were both supportive of Diana McGraw's efforts to bring U.S. troops home after Pat McGraw's death.[3]
