Brent Yoshida[1] was a professor of economics at California State University, Sacramento. His wife Nicole became Governor of California, and later the first President of Pacifica. Brent was by Nicole's side during many key moments of the founding of Pacifica. They survived the battle of Vacaville together.[2] They also watched Russian president Vladimir Putin's announcement that he recognized Pacifica, and his call for U.S President Mike Pence to do the same.[3] They also watched Pence's speech recognizing Pacifica, which came just a few minutes after Putin's.[4]
