An evil wizard named Mebodes has imprisoned a fair maiden named Viviane in a castle in the Great Wood, and surrounded the castle with werewolves.

Trivia[]
Turtledove has stated that Rolf's winning strategy was based on a move he improvised while playing Dungeons & Dragons with Laura Frankos.[1]
