In some of the Pecos Bill stories, Bean Hole was the cook at Pecos Bill's Hell's Gate Gulch Ranch. Due to the haphazard publishing order of the stories, it is uncertain which author created Bean Hole.
Bean Hole in "Slue-Foot Sue and the Witch in the Woods"[]
Bean Hole, the ranch cook, was the first person to greet Slue-foot Sue when she returned to Hell's Gate Gulch Ranch from Russia. She had Bean Hole cook a special chicken dinner (made from the legs of the witch's hut) to assuage Pecos Bill's anger regarding Sue's carelessness with Widow Maker.[1]
