Race Invasion of Tosev 3)

Basil Roundbush (d. 1965) was an officer in the Royal Air Force during World War II and the Race Invasion of Earth. He was part of a group of RAF specialists conducting research on jet aircraft and radar, and served as a Gloster Meteor test pilot. He met David Goldfarb during this posting, who regarded Roundbush as an unusually perky but encouraging superior. Roundbush survived the invasion of the United Kingdom and lived to see the end of the war.

After the Peace of Cairo, he entered the ginger-smuggling trade, selling the herb to the Race in its various colonies, often via the Greater German Reich. This lucrative trade garnered him connections in the the criminal world, Race society, and perhaps even the British government. Roundbush eventually intimidated his former subordinate Goldfarb into helping him, relying on threats and the fact Goldfarb was unlikely to receive help as a Jew in an increasingly fascist Great Britain.

Goldfarb ended up being caught during the trip, but managed to make it back to the UK and eventually fled to Canada with the help of more loyal RAF associates. Roundbush would not allow Goldfarb to escape that easily, calling and threatening him in his new home country several times.

As it turned out, Goldfarb had made several unusual friends during his brief trip onto mainland Europe, including American ginger smugglers Rance Auerbach and Penny Summers, French ginger smuggler Pierre Dutourd, and SS officer Dieter Kuhn. Despite the latter's affiliation, Goldfarb managed to attract some sympathy from these individuals. To Roundbush's utter bewilderment, he suddenly found himself being targeted by German agents, and narrowly escaped death several times.

Weary, he contacted Goldfarb one last time trying and failing to make amends; Goldfarb had no way of calling off Roundbush's assailants. Roundbush was killed in an automobile "'accident'" shortly after.
