Hail! Hail! POD: December 15, 1826 | |
Type of Appearance: | Direct (unnamed) |
Nationality: | Mexico |
Date of Birth: | Unknown |
Occupation: | Barkeep |
A one-eyed barkeep served drinks to the Marx Brothers shortly after they slipped into December 15, 1826 from 1934. Julius Marx ordered four whiskeys. The barkeep, a man with an accent that sounded half Spanish and half Southern U.S., insisted the four strangers pay first. Julius laid out a quarter and two dimes to cover a forty-cent tab. While the barkeep did make sure the coins were silver, he didn't notice the dates, and so served them their whiskey.[1]
