Aufidius Bonus was a Pannonian-born Roman soldier stationed at Brocolitia on the Hadrian's Wall. While standing in queue at the wagon owned by Flavius Antigonus Papias, his decurion, Quintus Vestinus Corvus, called out to Bonus and suggested he ought to be on duty. Panicked, Bonus stepped out of line, and Corvus took his place. Bonus assured Corvus he was not on duty, but then realized what had happened and wandered away.[1]
