Art "Pancho" Snyder was the pilot and captain of the Ares III in 2039. He was extremely officious about making sure the crew performed their exercise regimens. Unlike crew members Melissa Ott and Buck Herzog, he was not a baseball fan, and had to ask for clarification when Ott announced the death of Fernando Valenzuela.[1]
