Antwerp in The Hot War[]

In spite of all of NATO's precautions, the Soviet Union managed to evade all security measures, and drop an atomic bomb on Antwerp in September 1951. Belgian Prime Minister Joseph Pholien held American President Harry Truman responsible for the breach of security.[1]

Antwerp in The Man With the Iron Heart[]

Antwerp was the site of a terrorist attack by the German Freedom Front. In 1948, U.S. Congressman Sam Rayburn reminded the American public of Antwerp's fate and warned that it could happen in America if people were not careful.[2]

Antwerp in "Uncle Alf"[]

Antwerp was a Flemish-speaking city in occupied Belgium. Feldgendarmerie agent Adolf Hitler, to explain away his German accent, claimed to be Koppensteiner, a merchant from Antwerp, when undercover in Lille, France in May 1929.
