An Emperor for the Legion (Del Rey, 1987) is the second volume of the original Videssos Cycle by Harry Turtledove.
It deals with the civil war caused by the death of the Avtokrator Mavrikios Gavras and the usurping of the Videssian throne by Ortaias Sphrantzes.
An Emperor for the Legion and its immediate predecessor, The Misplaced Legion, were reprinted in a single volume in 2013.
