Alexandria in Joe Steele[]

In the fall of 1934, Senator Huey Long was shot through the head by a sniper while speaking in front of Alexandria's city hall. His bodyguards responded in a confused manner, with several opening fire into the crowd, killing an additional twenty people.[1] Long's assassin was never caught.

Long had been traveling across Louisiana in an effort to defy a warrant for his arrest at the instigation of President Joe Steele.

Alexandria in Southern Victory[]

One of the first prison camps in the Confederate States, Camp Dependable, was located near Alexandria. It was built to hold the Freedom Party enemies of Louisiana's Radical Liberal Governor Huey Long, but this situation was reversed after the Freedomite coup which killed Long. Dependable was Jefferson Pinkard's first major assignment.
